General Assistance (GA)
We provide cash assistance and limited Medicaid coverage to individuals and
couples without dependent children who have little or no income and live in the
following municipalities: Bedminster, Bernards Township, Bernardsville, Bound
Brook, Branchburg, Far Hills, Green Brook, Hillsborough, Manville, Millstone,
Montgomery, North Plainfield, Raritan, Rocky Hill, Somerville, South Bound Brook
and Warren. Other individuals should apply in the municipality in which they
live. This is a time-limited program and recipients may participate for a
maximum of five years.
